Net Worth

The financial clout of my family is summed up in this little number. It represents the degree to which we can abandon corporate and consumer culture. Our social and financial independence as well as our ability to provide for the basic needs of others in the world is the consequence of our ability to accumulate sufficient capital to meet the demand for food, clothing, and shelter for ourselves and those in need.

Right now I don't know what the "magic" number is, but I know for certain it isn't where we are at right now.
